Father Nicholas Mihaly of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church (Erie) will perform a traditional Eastern Orthodox blessing of the water, with accompanying prayers. The public are welcome to attend.
Service begins at 12 Noon
Following the blessing and short service, all are welcome to meet-up at Voodoo Brewery on State Street (near 101 Boston Store Place), where food and drink ere available for purchase.

Welcome to the Winter Village at Chautauqua, a new, family-oriented series of events that celebrates the joy and fellowship of the holiday season and showcases Chautauqua Institution’s picturesque grounds and boutique shops, restaurants, spas and other businesses.
Each weekend’s activities will be centered on Bestor Plaza, our town square, including holiday lighting, shopping, beverages and snacks with outdoor fire pits, and opportunities to meet or write letters to Santa.

The statutory or "binding" vote for the proposed centralization of the Brocton Central School District and Westfield Academy and Central School District will be held on Wednesday, October 9 from noon to 8:00 p.m. in each school district.
Qualified Brocton voters may vote in the Brocton High School Gym Lobby
Qualified Westfield voters may vote in the WACS Main Lobby.
The public is invited to attend an informational and public input session where Pashek Associates will present their recommendations regarding the feasibility of a potential multi-use trail connecting Lake Erie at Barcelona Harbor to Chautauqua Lake at the Chautauqua Institution. The meeting will be held at Webb’s Year-Round Resort, 115 West Lake Road, Mayville, New York 14757.
The proposed trail would create a greenway in the vicinity of the historic Portage Trail, likely using existing rails-to-trails pathways to connect Barcelona and the Villages of Westfield and Mayville to the Chautauqua Institution.
This project was identified as one of the top priority projects in the Chautauqua County Greenway Plan, which was financed by the County and managed by the County Department of Planning & Economic Development (CCPED), and completed in April 2012.
